Excuses, excuses, excuses! We all make them, but WHY do we do it when it's keeping us from reaching our full potential?
We have got to learn how to STOP making excuses so we can be successful! Excuses don't produce results!!
Many of my students, at some point, have made excuses that have stopped them from getting the results they wanted. But guess what? As soon as they stopped doing that, big things started happening for them!
If you find yourself making up reasons why you can't do something or why you're not achieving all your wildest dreams, you might be in the same spot my students have been in before.
I believe in you! If you can push the excuses aside, I truly believe you can reach your full potential as a brilliant business owner!
OK, let's dive in and see if you can relate to any of these excuses and see if we can help you work towards reaching your full potential.
So Many Excuses…
A lot of us make excuses because we’re too scared to start something. Maybe you’re afraid of failure, or the unknowns. You may even be afraid of success.
Whatever you are afraid of, you CAN NOT let it win! You have to keep working against it and moving forward,
Let’s explore some of the fears together, shall we?
Fear #1: “I don’t have enough money”
I remember being the queen of coupons, trying to save every penny I could. The thought of investing in a product seemed almost impossible to me. I couldn’t do it. And yet, here I am.
You don’t always need to buy something new or invest a lot of money to start a business. Go around your house and see what you've got lying around that you could sell right now. If you don't have the money today to start a business, be resourceful enough to use what you already own and make money from that to invest into your business.
Don't think you have anything at home to sell? Go to a local second hand store and search for some treasures that you could resell and make a profit.
Remember, starting a business is not about having a lot of money, it’s about resourcefulness.
Fear #2: “I don’t know how to use social media / don’t want to be on social media all day”
I had a pillow business that made multiple millions of dollars, and through all the marketing campaigns, my picture and name were never used, not even once! I didn’t need to have a presence on social media to make my business work. Not having a social media presence is not a big deal.
If the “Ugh, I gotta put my face out there but I don’t want to” is stopping you, then let me tell you right now: You don’t have to plaster yourself on social media to have a successful business!
Fear #3: “I’ve tried everything and failed already”
If you keep trying to sell different products and nothing works, don’t give up! Sometimes, it takes more than just a few tries to find the one product that speaks to you.
What you sell now does not have to define or determine your business a few years from now. If you start selling home décor now and it doesn’t speak to you and you don't enjoy it, there’s nothing wrong with changing it up!
Fear #4: “I don’t have time”
Most people feel like they don’t have enough time for anything these days. However, if you really want to have a successful business, then time is never the issue.
You need to learn how to plan your time accordingly and use that time the best you possibly can. Here’s a free planner you can use to do just that if you need some help managing your time (no need to thank me, just happy to help you out!).
