What does it mean when I say to start your store filled with radical confidence?
Or hey–what the heck IS radical confidence? And why is it so ding-dang important to owners of every single type of business, including you if you have or are thinking about launching or growing an ecommerce business?
Well, I have the answer, thanks to the one-of-a-kind Lisa Bilyeu, who joined me on my podcast to discuss her new book, Radical Confidence
Radical Confidence with Lisa Bilyeu
Growing up in the United Kingdom, Lisa dreamed of becoming a successful filmmaker. After meeting Tom, the love of her life, during a course she took in California and later marrying him, Lisa’s life changed in unexpected ways.
Tom and his business partners founded Quest Nutrition (Yep, THAT Quest!), and Lisa made the power bars at home with a rolling pin. She went on to run the shipping department, growing it to over 40 employees. She then turned her attention to the company’s marketing division, helping the company to grow exponentially (as in 57000%!!!) and become a household name.
And she did all of it completely scared, not knowing how to do many of the things she was tasked with. She allowed herself to fail—and put the negative voice in her head to work to her advantage. In her book, Radical Confidence, she’s opening up about her life and the lessons she has learned for everyone to learn from.
During this episode, Lisa explains what radical confidence is and how it can help you start your online store.
She underscores that radical confidence is all about taking steps, trying new things and being willing to fail and learn from it—just like she did. My friend, that resonated with me in a BIG way!
Do you know how scared I was to launch my first ecommerce business? Oh my heavens, I nearly died.
And I’ve shared before that I was ready to give up by the third day because I had FAILED to sell anything online the second and third days after I launched. But I posted on that fourth day, expecting a total nosedive…and it worked, I sold out. And it kept working.
So you better bet I agree with Lisa—in fact, I love what she teaches. That’s why I encourage you to do yourself a solid and listen to this podcast.
