This week, I'm interviewing one of my favorite people: The brilliant Brittany Steadman! I’ve known Brittany for about three years now, and let me tell you, her story is INCREDIBLE!
Brittany is a super-wife, a great mom, and an amazing businesswoman. Basically, she's got it all!
In today's podcast, she'll be telling us all about how she took one DIY product to a manufacturer and turned it into a seven-figure business with her husband.
You're gonna love it, so let's get started!!
How Brittany's DIY to Manufacturer Journey Started
Brittany's journey of taking a DIY product to a manufacturer started with her and her husband trying to have children. They found themselves struggling and started seeing infertility specialists. Through this process, they were told that they wouldn’t be able to have a baby on their own, at least without using in-vitro. Brittany started praying, asking God about what to do next. The idea of adoption came to her, and she continued to feel that they needed to adopt.
One night, while watching TV with her uncle, he started to give Brittany a hard time about not having children yet. Brittany completely broke down and told him they couldn’t have children on their own. She told him that they were trying to figure out their next steps.
Lo and behold, her uncle actually knew someone that was helping a young woman with a 15-month-old son place him for adoption.
Within two months, Brittany and her husband had adopted the little boy. Such a sweet blessing for them! What she and her husband didn’t know at the time was that their son had some special needs.
Two months later, you won’t guess what happened. Actually, why don’t you try?
Yep, you guessed it: Brittany got pregnant!!! And then, six months after they had their second son was born, she was pregnant again!!! Twenty-two months after that, they had their fourth child.
In four years, Brittany and her husband had four kids! Talk about blessings!
As you can imagine, life was a bit crazy. Brittany quit her job to stay home and care for her four kiddos. Everything she did revolved around taking care of her kids and her family. (Like I said, she's amazing!)
Brittany and her husband were grateful they were getting to experience the magical life of parenthood.
Brittany's Solution
With Brittany quitting her job came new difficulties. Financial difficulties. They sold one of their cars and used coupons for their shopping. Brittany was always trying to come up with different ways to bring in extra income to help pay for things like speech therapy, piano lessons, and everything else her children needed. One day, Brittany walked into her house from her garage. There was sawdust in her hair and paint all over her hands. She thought she needed a bit of a clean-up.
As she walked into the kitchen and looked around, there was a box of Honey Nut Cheerios strewn across the countertop, boiled-over ramen noodles, and her children staring at a television screen. That’s when Brittany thought: “There has to be a better way!” A better way to bring in extra money while being a stay-at-home mom.
And guess what? She found it!
What happened after that? How did Brittany start her business after this realization? Well, you're going to want to hear it from her directly! Tune in now and check out the amazing business Brittany and her husband created!
