Emily's Journey

As a young mom of three children, Emily was devastated to learn that the operation to remedy her daughter Eliza's ear condition – called microtia – was considered cosmetic surgery and that the insurance company wouldn't cover it.

The surgery was crazy expensive, but nothing could stop this mother from helping her daughter. Sounds like the recipe for an unstoppable business to me! 

Emily's company, Saranoni started as a baby gift basket company. Emily got the idea from the baby gift baskets her husband's company would give them whenever they had a child. She wanted to offer higher-quality gift baskets. 

Emily’s vision for her business was BIG!   She dreamed of a business that would offer customers top-quality baby gift baskets while helping the people who manufactured them, often from third-world countries like India and Peru.

To make an over-the-top gift basket, she needed a lot of pieces. So, she started buying products from various countries; sterling silver bracelets, sweater outfits, and what would eventually become the best-selling product: a baby blanket.

During a particularly hard time in her business, Emily took a step back to reevaluate WHY she had started this business. This was something that would forever change the trajectory of her business. At the time, she had been selling a lot of different products, but it was the blankets that were generating the most revenue. After a few brave decisions and a pivot in her business, Saranoni became a luxury blanket business.

Emily's new direction was not an overnight success. Just like you, she needed to find a way to get more traffic to her online store.

How Emily Drives Traffic to Her Site

For Emily, she was able to drive traffic to her site through Instagram and Facebook. I think what she did was BRILLIANT, but HOW exactly did she get so many dang people to visit her website?!

She started working with influencers! They loved Emily's products and would share their stories and experiences about Saranoni blankets with their followers. You know we love working with influencers! (These episodes are great if you want to learn more about how you can leverage influencers to grow your online shop. Episode 12, episode 17 and episode 20.)

Something Emily said, and you’ll hear it in the episodes above as well, is influencers need to LOVE your product. 

This is why investing in high-quality stuff is ESSENTIAL if you want to build a successful online business. It may cost a little more, but it will pay off in the long run! It sure has for Emily.
