Yep folks, it's just me and you this week!
The topic for this week's podcast is one of my all-time faaaaavorite subjects: How YOU can increase your online sales.
And really, who doesn't want to?
Since I love talking about this topic and I want you to make money, today I'll be sharing THREE strategies you can start using right now to start increasing your sales.
Are you ready? Come join me!
Alison and the Peach Tree
My family and I are currently visiting our house in Utah. In our yard, we have a peach tree that I just love. I take care of it all the time, and I basically baby it like it’s no one’s business.
The other day, I was looking at the tree when I noticed a branch was broken. It wasn't just a small branch. No no. It was a good size one. As I went to inspect the tree, I noticed that the branch in question had too many peaches on it. They were so heavy; the tree couldn’t hold it anymore and just broke.
Now, if you know anything about fruit trees, then you know they have to be pruned regularly. If you don’t, the fruit will not be as good. They’re going to grow, sure, but they’ll be smaller and not as sweet.
I'm sure you're thinking, “OK, Alison, why are you talking about your peach tree?”
I'm talking about it because entrepreneurs are just like peach trees! When you have too many ideas and start too many businesses at the same time, your branches start breaking, and your ideas don’t have enough space to flourish as much as they could if you take the time to prune them!
I don't want you to miss out on a flourishing business, so I am going to share some tips to help you succeed in your online sales!
Tip 1: Prune Your Tree!
The best strategy I have learned in online sales is that pruning your (metaphorical) tree is crucial! I want you to go into your business analytics, look through them, and see which business is actually creating income for you and which one you can put on hold.
You’ll also have to see which business you can completely shut down because you know in the back of your mind that it won’t bring you anything.
Focusing on the business that brings in 90% of your income will help you stop wasting your time so you can put more energy and effort into things that are actually working already.
Tip 2: Clean Up Your Stations
Cleaning up and organizing your workstations is important. Take a look at your computer desktop, is it full of screenshots and random videos and documents? Clean that up! There’s a reason Google Docs exists, so use it!
If you sell physical products, make sure to go through your inventory. I guarantee you, you’ll find a lot of odd things everywhere, some products here, some others there, and you need to get rid of them.
You don’t need to throw them away. You can do what we did with an old business of mine instead. Grab these random products, put them in a box, and every six weeks, put them on sale as grab boxes. When we did this, our boxes would always sell out in a matter of minutes.
Just make sure to put actual quality products in these boxes. They have to be really good products because you want to keep doing this until you can clear out your inventory.
Tip 3: Stop Being Omnipresent
Don’t be everywhere. And by everywhere, I mean email, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.… Being on all these social media platforms will exhaust you and overwhelm your peach tree.
Remember, the people that are omnipresent are not doing it on their own. They have teams doing it for them and until you have a team, I want you to choose just one or two platforms to share quality content.
Alison's Top 3
- Start pruning your peach tree.
- Clean and organize your computer, your businesses, and your websites.
- Stop being omnipresent until you have a team.
